Ecatl (Marco) Velez
Marco grew up in Nanaimo, British Columbia, and obtained his Master’s of Physiotherapy from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria in BC. As a young adult, Marco sustained a serious whiplash injury and concussion which led him to his own rehabilitation journey where he was able to become pain and symptom free a year later. This event was a catalyst for his desire to become a physiotherapist and help others on their own rehabilitation journey and he understands how injuries and chronic pain can affect all aspects of an individual’s life. Fast forward to today, Marco’s evidence-based approach to physiotherapy involves a combination of manual therapy, myofascial release, education, and individualized exercise programs. He has significant experience working with a variety of patients and conditions including, musculoskeletal injuries, concussions, neck and back pain, chronic pain, and vestibular issues.
In his free time, Marco can be found paddleboarding, playing soccer, at the gym, or playing his spanish guitar. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with friends and family and exploring his new home in the Okanagan Valley.
